Thanks. This information is usefull. My interest are related more specific to the tourism as opposed to business. Russian Brides, Sex Tourism, family reunion and cultural. the issues of bribes where it effects a tourist in Ukraine. I am sure that other examples of corruption do set the tone for corruption in the tourist industry as much as any other.
Thes issues including the attitude of authorites is what is of concern to tourist wishing to explore new unseen cultures. The same concerns exist in South America and other eastern and former USSR counties. The question I am interetsed in is what if anything is being done to address these concerns in the hope of making it safe and secure. To this end the idea/concept of a tourism chamber of commerce was of interest, and hopefully help self regulate and set standards to assist in developing the tourist industry.
: FYI, the "2000 Corruption Perceptions Index" rates Ukraine lower than any other country in the world except Yugoslavia and Nigeria. I hope this index does not reflect reality. If it does, it's frightening to me because that's below Russia, Cameroon, Angola, Uganda, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, the Philippines, Romania, Kazakhstan and many others.
: Check it out for yourself.
