If travelling next week forget it. The pope will be in town. I think the best bet is a home stay. Many on offer at Railway Station.

But yes the George is not bad but expensive.

: The George Hotel is an excellent value at approximately $60 per night and the location is unbeatable - right downtown on the central square, near to the Opera House and many museums.

: The Grand Hotel is better, but the price can be exorbitant.

: There is an excellent restaurant called "Viennese" (I think) that is directly across the square from the Grand Hotel. Wonderful food, great prices, and the live musicians are fantastic.

: Nightlife is not as varied and exotic as Kyiv, but there are probably enough places to suit you - depending on your tastes.

: You can find some terrific apartments in Lviv - check with Yuri at => yeleyko@yahoo.com or Taras at => t.boychuk@ukraine.com.

: I hope this helps.
