more clear in my post below "New and Old Procedures. I did not register! When I got my passport from the embassy I again specificaly asked about and the lady in question assured me again that there was NO registration. I think that within one week I asked her three times this question.
I was really willing to fight it out at passport control when I left the country, but absolutely nothing happened. I gave my passport and boarding pass and got them back without a quedstion and without a word.
But then again, I wrote below: Never take anything for granted! But I think that by now we have a very strong case if on the border someone wants to rip you off.
In the future I am not going to registrate anymore unless it is clear that there is new procedure. Saves me 20 bucks for now.
