And so can anyone else that can read Russian - have first-hand experience, that is. All they need do is go visit the Ukrainian Embassy website and they can find it for themselves.

No Darrell, I am not "scaring people." Rather, I am a studied observer with numerous friends, colleagues and relatives that frequently travel to/from Ukraine - myself included - and I can read a little Russian.

You say these accounts of problems are mere "rumor." I *know* it to be different - though at the same time, I also acknowledge your point of view owing to spotty enforcement of the law.

Darrell, you seem to be offended at my contrary perspective. And you accuse me directly of "scaring people"! Do you deny the fact of this being Ukrainian law? Do you reject my comment that others have, indeed, experienced a hassle?? Let's sort out this misinformation Darrell. You've described your experiences - and I've offered additional information based on my own first-hand experiences. Readers of the board probably benefit by hearing both. Having said that, I'll still be happy to debate the legality of the stamp requirement with you.

: :Dan, Have you had any first hand experience?
: Lidiya and I have many friends who regularly travel into and out of Ukraine. They have USA green cards and no stamps in their passports. Not one has ever had any problem exiting Ukraine. Unless you have first hand experience, you should not aid in continuing misinformation which has appeared on this board. If what you say is correct, why could not Lidiya get a "stamp" when she attempted to apply for one when we were there. If anyone does have a problem exiting Ukraine because of a lack of a "stamp", they can simply go to Poland and return to the USA from there. The "stamp" that people refer to costs $400 if obtained in the USA. It is a waste of money and totally unnessary.
: Stop scaring people!!
