:Yalta is beautiful in the Summer, with the beaches and things of historical signifigance.Many shops to investigate and if one is careful you can find a local who will rent you a place to stay cheaply. we were there in Aug. 2000 and it cost us approx $10 USD for a week. There was a celebration going on all week and we had a wonderful time. If I was going to stay for a while I would chose Kyiv though for all of the entertainment available.
: They are a short drive away from one another - and you would be well-advised to take in both cities if you are in the region.
: Yalta, of course, was home to the famous Yalta Conference following WWII and the site of an historic meeting between Churchill, Stalin, and Roosevelt. There are many other historic and famous sites in, and around, the Yalta area.

: : Hello Jon, thanks for your comments, Kiev is a wonderful, beautiful city, but a little to big and to expensive for me. But, Yalta on the other hand, sounds real intriguing, something to look into. Have you been there, are there things to do? Thanks for your input
