: This is the kind of information I am looking for.

: Our options, as I see it, are: 1) have my USC wife enter UA on her UA passport and attempt to get a PMZh stamp issued by OVIR in the two week period including New Years and Christmas without being financially raped (again!) in the process; or, 2) Leaving the UA passport at home, enter on a US passport and say nothing.

: Guess which seems best? Given the trouble we had last time, my wife refuses to have anything to do with her UA passport now and certainly would not consider even carrying it there.

: In any case, I'll definitely post what happens when we return. We're leaving here Christmas day and returning mid-January.

: : Dude, where are you geting this paranoia crap from? You do not quit your Ukrainian citizenship when you leave Ukraine anymore. You can quit your citizenship at any time without paying anything. The days of the iron wall are over.

: : I have both passports. I used to travel to Ukraine using my ukrainian passport until I got my US citizenship. I did register it with the consulate and I do have the PMZh stamp. When I got my US passport I started using it instead of the Ukrainian one.

: : I never quit my Ukrainian citizenship in the hopes that they will pull their heads out of their asses and make dual citizenship legal like in Russia and many other countries.

: : I have never had one problem, not with my Ukrainian passport not with my US passport. The only thing she needs to do is to never show two passports at the same time.

I think that now that they got rid of the mandatory passport registration in 3 days rule, it's much easier, safer and less of a headache to go as a US citizen. At least that's what I personally do.
