I know this subject has been probably beaten to death, but I just want to clarify this one more time.

I plan on taking a 3 month trip to Ukraine to work on a novel, and music.

I plan on bringing about $8000 with me.
I have read that you can only bring $1000 with, is that true? I also have heard you can bring any amount, as long as you declare it?

Also, what are the stipulations on itinerary? I will be moving from hotel to hostel through out the country, so I can experience the whole culture of Ukraine, Will the consulate require every place I will stay at, because I won't know that until arrive.
