Hopefully one month in Ukraine and a lot of patient waiting will be enough. For a restfull vacation I will recommend not getting a new passport in Ukraine.
I would rather depend on authenticated marriage license. For extra measure you can also have the Ukrainian consulate authenticate or officially recognize your marriage license after US authentications.
