The short answer is to forget about it, the import tax on autombiles on Ukraine is HIGH, the tax is complicated 2 Euros/cc engine size + base amount depending on make and year, the information is not published, you will only know the tax price when you talk with the customs agents in actuality it is whatever the customs agent wants to charge you, there will also more than likely be poor security where your vehicle will be stored.
My conclusion was that I was better off buying local. If you can drive a stick, then I recommend buying a locally made car, I bought a brand new 4 door "Volga" right out of the factory near Simferopol in Jan 2001, for 5700 USD, I've had a few problems with it, total repair costs so far about 300 USD, let's say it's an adequate car, but far from being a luxery car, on the other hand, it's really cheap, easy to fix, and I don't get stopped by the police very much and less of a theft target than a foreign car that strokes your ego more
