No straight teachers here mate...they were taught by their teachers well...they had to pay their way through University just to get graded!!!!
The rot starts young unfortunately...think about this. The Medical Doctor you end up seeing in hospital is one who paid his/her way through University...and had parents who coughed up enough cash to buy a degree.
Scary but true...and this applies to students from other countries like India, Pakistan, Malaysia...all who get a Medical degree and then recognized as qualified doctors when they get back home!!!
One Doctor I know of here has night work (24 hours plus duty) several times a month.. She is on her own from around 5pm until next morning. Will ALWAYS call a senior doctor is the going gets even slightly out of her competency range (which is extremely limited). In other words she will fill you with whatever pharmaceuticals and hope for the best. Will she get fired? Not when she giving the boss doctor his "favors" .
