: : We send regularly through Meest and none have ever been opened. If they are ever opened at customs though, the Meest pickup driver gets the customs people to stamp the parcel "Opened by customs" and also sign a slip along with a statement of what is in the package when he picked it up.
: : But as I said, it's never been necessary because they've never opened our parcels. Also, they deliver right to the addressee and track down the addressee if necessary. An excellent service for the relatively small cost compared to UPS and FedEx etc. who do not give the same level of service in Ukraine.
: Darwin, I took your advice and tried Meest California, and I have to say I was very dissatisfied with the way I was treated. They quote one price on their website and over the phone, then jack up the price one you've hauled your package into their office. To make things worse, no one, not even their head office, cared about addressing my complaint. They basically told me to go elsewhere if I was unhappy with them. I don't know if I can do anything about deceptive advertising in California since their website seems to be up in Canada, but I'd just like you to know that in my case, using Meest was a mistake.
:I read your mishap with Meest, your not the first person that has had the same problem with this company. I ship through CHAIKA, Chicago. I ups my packages to them and they send them to ukraine without any problems. There are no hidden costs and service is prompt. They charge .69 cents per pound and $10.00 delivery to the home anywhere in Ukraine. They will offer credits for your next shipment. I'm very happy with their service. Try them sometime.
