Serhiy Zhadan will be reading a selection of his poems and excerpts from his novel Voroshilovgrad, published in English by ellum Press, 2016. BBC Ukraine named Voroshilovgrad BBC Book of the Year in 2010 and BBC Book of the Decade in 2014.
Mr. Zhadan is a poet, novelist, musician from Kharkiv, Ukraine. An activist who has become a voice of Ukraine's "Euro-Maidan" movement, he has been vocal about finding solutions that make Ukraine a safe space for Russian and Ukrainian speakers.
